off season

Well my "off season" is officially over. After one week with no riding while the boss was in town and I was sick as well, I finally got a ride in last night. Solo, 22 miles to jasper, tuskaurara, clarks.

Mainly JRA, but I did work out a new sprint drill I am going to start using. Instead of sprinting up the overpasses, I am going to go up at a steady pace, accelerate on the flat top then sprint down the backside. I figure it is a better approximation of a sprint off a leadout and will help me work on top speed. 34.3 last night without trying too hard.

I am also working on sprinting in the 14 instead of the 12 then shifting. Based on top speed is it just as fast, but it lacks the satisfaction or really mashing the big gear. The test will be how it compares in a crowd, because the real satisfaction is winning.
