I Survived!

Lived through my last Cat 5 race!

Uptown Greenville Crit. Field of 24.

The rain started right as we lined up. The first crash was in the third corner of the first lap. downhill and across a brick crosswalk.

Full stop to get around and the field began to shred. Hmm...should have been up front.

Leapfrogged my way back into the race. Got to a group of 4 including one guy I knew. Asked how many more were up the road.

two

ok, lets go get them.

worked together to reel in the two off the front. filtering through lapped riders the whole time.

2 to go and we caught the largest remnant of the pack. 2 from the break made it around before the next corner and the whole pack hopped on for a tow. Now there are essentially ten guys blocking for the two up front.

Last lap I am debating whether it is worth fighting through the accelerating pack and ending up mid pack going into the crash corner in the rain.

I decide not and eased a bit then sprint for fourth.

Now to put in for my upgrade.
